At the centre of the village is the duck pond, which is unique in being designated a listed building. The pond's ducks are given a food allowance by the Parish Council. The church, St Bartholomew's, dates back to between 1050 and 1080. Otford is well placed at the junction of the Darent Valley and Holmesdale between the North Downs scarp and southerly Sevenoaks ridge in an area of outstanding natural beauty and therefore is an ideal centre for walkers. |
